Having been a part of adidas’ “Always Original” collective of dynamic changemakers in 2022, Taqwa Bint Ali has reignited her partnership with the Trefoil to present her first footwear collaboration in the form of the Adistar Pose and the Megaride Mary-Jane sneakers.
Inspired by functional ballet style, made modern through streetwear codes, both the Taqwa Bint Ali Adistar Pose, and the Megaride Mary-Jane sneakers play host to powerful collisions of aesthetic worlds – each look removing the tongue from the lacing system, and updating their uppers in tonal silver colorways. The Adistar Pose features an extended set of laces to be tied up the calf, while the Megaride Mary-Jane boasts a singular Velcro enclosure. Both pairs come packaged in custom premium co-branded boxes, in the process recontextualizing the chunky silhouettes for a new audience.
The limited edition Taqwa Bint Ali Megaride Mary-Jane will be available at adidas.co.za and at select adidas stores retailing at R3999.
