Travellers flying with LIFT will now get to sample more of South Africa’s quality wines when travelling to their next destination. A range of Boschendal, Bellingham and Brampton wines are now available as part of LIFT’s on board catering offering until December 2025.
Thanks to a partnership with DBG, South Africa’s premium independent wine and spirit produce, travellers will see a new selection of wines on offer on LIFT flights, after 11am (apart from MCC, which is always available to Premium passengers as a standalone beverage or a classic LIFT Mimosa), helping winemakers reach new audiences across regions and borders.
“It is a privilege to continue our five-year partnership with DGB, a company that has been recognised as the “Best South African Wine Producer” for four years running, by Mundus Vini at Prowein in Germany. Together we select wines which are in their peak drinking window and have a seasonal fit for our travellers to best enjoy.,” says Ryno Mocke, Onboard Product Specialist at LIFT.
LIFT has offered wine on board as part of its complimentary catering office since the inception of the brand, and changes the selection on a regular basis to give travellers the opportunity to try something new, while also taking into account their menu offers, ensuring meals and snacks pair well with the variety of wines offered on board.
From the beginning of August, LIFT’s Premium passengers will be able to toast to their next destination with Boschendal Brut Rose NV, Bellingham Homestead Red Blend or Bellingham Homestead Sauvignon Blanc. Passengers in Economy will be able to enjoy Brampton Sauvignon Blanc and Brampton Cabernet Sauvignon.
“The team at LIFT are always looking for the best possible offering for their passengers and their commitment to outright quality is such a great synergy for us. Everybody deserves to be enjoying one of South Africa’s best wines at 36 000ft and we are proud to be able to offer that”, Andrew Harris, Marketing Director at DGB.
For those with a keen interest in the wines on offer, this is what one can expect:

This Brut Rosé captivates with its delicate pale pink colour and intoxicating red fruit aromas which further delight the palate with hints of strawberry, raspberry and cherry flavours. Indulgent enjoyed on its own or with an eclectic range of delicious dishes, like smoked salmon salads, brie and prosciutto pizza or creamy choux éclairs for a sweet Indulgence.
Bellingham, The Homestead Series, Red Blend 2022
This wine presents a layered fusion of red and black fruits, with bright notes of red cherry, blueberry, and blackcurrant. Subtle oak aging lends classic hints of tobacco spice, dark chocolate, and licorice. On the palate, Merlot brings elegance, while Cabernet Sauvignon adds depth and structure. Soft, juicy tannins create a generous and approachable profile, leading to a silky finish with lingering dark berry nuances.
Bellingham, The Homestead Series, Sauvignon Blanc 2024
This vibrant wine showcases a lively bright straw hue with a green tinge. A mixed tropical fruit bowl on the nose, aromas of grapefruit, green fig, white melon, lime, orange blossom and paw paw with hints of green pepper ensue. A fresh, crisp and lively entry, this fruit nose alongside hints of ripe guava, and a pithiness that aids in texture, follows through onto the palate. Citrus lingers with a crisp and memorable after-taste.
Brampton, Sauvignon Blanc 2024
Expressive tropical fruit salad aromas leap out of the glass, followed by underlying green fig and apple notes. Fruit forward with a rich tropical mid-palate of guava and passion fruit. This Sauvignon Blanc is made in a lively and fresh style, displaying complex, but beautifully balanced fruit.
Brampton Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
The wine has a rich ruby colour with a dense core of red cherry, mulberry and blackcurrant flavours. There is also a hint of ripe plum and cocoa on the nose, which is backed by dark chocolate notes. The ripe, silky tannins offer smooth drinkability, while the oak and clove notes add complexity. The integrated silky tannins add structure and length while the ripe tannins offer smooth drinkability.
“As an outspoken supporter of local businesses, LIFT loves being able to provide our travellers with great South African craftsmanship, as part of our elevated flying experience. South Africa is already known for its thriving wine industry, and having Boschendal, Bellingham and Brampton on board is a brilliant opportunity to showcase some of our exceptional local wines to both local and international travellers,” says Mocke.
