The Future of Fashion: Gia van der Walt Announced as the Face of South Africa Kids Fashion Week

The countdown has begun to a landmark moment in South African fashion. On 14 December 2025, South African Kids Fashion Week (SAKFW) will make its debut at Levelthree Premium Venue in Sandton, introducing the country’s first-ever fashion week designed exclusively for children and teens.

More than a runway event, SAKFW will become a stage for young voices, fresh creativity, and the designers who are shaping the future of kids’ fashion. With an audience set to include well-known influencers, celebrities, and entertainment personalities, the atmosphere promises to be nothing short of electric.

Introducing the Face of SAKFW

The inaugural edition will be fronted by Gia van der Walt, who at just 14 years old has been named the very first Face of South African Kids Fashion Week. Gia is the daughter of South Africa’s celebrated power couple, Lee-Ann Liebenberg and Nicky van der Walt.

Lee-Ann, a Miss South Africa finalist turned award-winning model, has spent over a decade as one of the nation’s most recognized media personalities. Nicky, a respected entrepreneur, continues to expand his footprint in luxury hospitality as CEO and Co-Founder of TANG, a fine dining group with restaurants in Sandton, Cape Town, and Dubai. Together, they represent two industries, fashion and business, that SAKFW aims to bridge with this new platform. Gia’s selection is both symbolic and inspiring, signaling the event’s commitment to spotlighting the next generation.
