Dr. Lehohla is the former Statistician-General of South Africa and led Statistics South Africa from 2000 to 2017. A globally respected voice in research, strategy, and statistical development, he has played an instrumental role in shaping Africa’s data landscape and driving forward evidence-based policy.

During his distinguished career, Dr. Lehohla has held influential roles, including:

• Co-Chair of PARIS21 and Chair of the UN Statistics Commission
• Founding Chair of the Statistics Commission of Africa (StatCom Africa)
• Chair of the African Symposium for Statistical Development (ASSD)
• Vice President of the International Statistics Institute (ISI)
• Champion of the Young African Statistician (YAS) movement

He has also served on the Independent Expert Advisory Group advising UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on the data revolution and continues to serve on the Independent Advisory Panel to the UN Secretary-General on the health of mothers, adolescents, and children.

Dr. Lehohla’s keynote will highlight the critical role of data, evidence, and accountability in advancing Africa’s readiness to take action on climate, ESG investment, and inclusive growth.
