Thandiswa Mazwai to headline powerhouse lineup at the soiree by Stella Artois: Wimbledon edition

Soiree 16x9 Lineup

South Africa’s most stylish celebration of music, culture, and connection – The Soirée by Stella Artois: Wimbledon Edition – returns this July, featuring Bongeziwe Mabandla, Shekhinah, Thando Zide, Sha Sha, and more.

South Africa’s premier lifestyle event, The Soirée by Stella Artois: Wimbledon Edition, returns to Johannesburg’s James & Ethel Grey Park on 11 July. Inspired by the timeless elegance of Wimbledon, the event reimagines the iconic tournament through a distinctly South African lens, inviting guests into a world of white, purple and green while bringing together world-class music, meaningful connection and contemporary culture.

Leading this year’s exceptional line-up is cultural icon King Tha (Thandiswa Mazwai), who rose to fame in the 1990s as the lead vocalist of the pioneering kwaito group Bongo Maffin. Her fearless artistry, brave political storytelling, and genre-defining influence have shaped the sound and spirit of contemporary South African music for more than two decades. Her appearance serves as proof of how even The Soirée by Stella Artois is fast becoming one of South Africa’s most influential cultural drawcards, attracting the country’s most respected and innovative talent through its unique fusion of music, style, and elevated social experience.

Joining King Tha is acclaimed singer-songwriter Bongeziwe Mabandla, whose deeply emotive blend of Afro-folk and modern soul has earned global acclaim; the platinum-selling, R&B-infused pop melodies of Shekhinah; and the Amapiano-inflected global sounds of internationally celebrated Zimbabwean artist Sha Sha.

Making her highly anticipated The Soirée by Stella Artois: Wimbledon Edition debut is soulful singer-songwriter Thando Zide, whose rich, jazz-inspired vocals and emotionally layered songwriting bring fresh energy to a programme that celebrates both established voices and rising talent. Throughout the day, dynamic sets from Nahledi, Lelowhatsgood, Lia Butler, and Akio will soundtrack the experience, moving seamlessly from laid-back afternoon elegance into a vibrant evening celebration.

The experience extends far beyond the stage into a world of curated food, movement, connection, culture-led lifestyle moments, and elevated social connection. Between performances and style expressions, guests can indulge in curated culinary offerings including bao buns, dim sum, gourmet seafood by The Prawnery, and crowd-favourite wings and ribs from The Wing Republic. A standout element making its return is the thoughtfully executed Food I Love You pairing experience, a seamless fusion of gourmet bites and perfectly poured Stella Artois.

Whether guests come for the performances, the atmosphere, the elevated lifestyle experiences, or simply the opportunity to connect, they can expect a celebration where every detail has been thoughtfully curated, and every moment is worth savouring.
