Alongside Neimil founders Keneilwe Mothoa and Lubabalo Mxalisa, and with Lloyiso captivating a global audience, Thapelo Mokoena’s Wimbledon journey became a celebration of South African creativity on the world stage.

As the world’s attention locked onto the pristine grass courts of Wimbledon, South African actor and entrepreneur Thapelo Mokoena found himself at the absolute centre of one of sport’s most prestigious cultural spectacles. Invited by Stella Artois, the Official Beer Partner of The Championships, Mokoena travelled to London for an unforgettable journey where timeless British tradition, world-class hospitality, and global creativity came together in spectacular fashion.

Between world-class matches, Thapelo held court with fellow South African design visionaries and Neimil co-founders, Keneilwe Mothoa and Lubabalo Mxalisa. Having recently shared the spotlight at the star-studded Johannesburg launch of the limited-edition Stella Artois White Can – a striking tribute to the tournament’s all-white tradition – their London reunion felt like the perfect, organic continuation of a grander global style narrative.

The journey reached its ultimate social peak at the renowned arts, music, and culture space Outernet London, where the creative collective stepped inside Stella Artois’ invitation-only global gathering, Let’s Do Dinner, recognized worldwide as The World’s Most Fascinating Dinner. As part of an elite creative circle showcasing contemporary African influence on the global stage, Mokoena and the Neimil founders commanded the room, rubbing shoulders and sharing fascinating conversations with international icons and cultural pioneers including tennis icons Andy Murray and Maria Sharapova, actor Theo James from the critically acclaimed show “The Gentlemen” on Netflix, and singer Natasha Bedingfield, best known for her global hit “Unwritten”

The star-studded evening reached an unforgettable crescendo when South African global music sensation Lloyiso opened the night with his performance. Delivering a breathtaking, soulful showcase that completely captivated the international guests, Lloyiso earned a resounding standing ovation, proudly bringing the unmistakable sound of South Africa to one of London’s most sophisticated audiences.

“London and Wimbledon represent the pinnacle of style and tradition, so to experience it through Stella Artois was something truly special,” says Thapelo Mokoena. “Sharing the journey alongside Keneilwe and Lubabalo made it even more meaningful. Ending the week at Let’s Do Dinner and watching Lloyiso perform for some of the world’s most interesting people reminded me that the most memorable moments are created around the table, where genuine conversations and lasting friendships begin.”

While the excitement of London draws to a close, South Africans can soon experience the same courtside elegance when The Soiree by Stella Artois – Tennis Edition returns on 11th July 2026 at James & Ethel Gray Park in Johannesburg. Bringing together an exceptional homegrown lineup featuring Thandiswa Mazwai, Bongeziwe Mabandla, Shekhinah, Thando Zide, and more, the event promises an unforgettable celebration inspired by the style of Wimbledon, proving once again that life’s finest experiences are always undeniably Worth More.
