Tropika Island Of Treasure Scores Four National Film & TV Awards South Africa Nominations

As Season 12 continues to captivate television audiences across the country every Wednesday night, Tropika Island of Treasure has officially solidified its status as a flagship South African television property, earning four nominations at the upcoming National Film & TV Awards South Africa (NFTA).

The hit reality competition show has been nominated in two major television categories: Best Competition Show and Best Non-Scripted TV Series. Recognizing her magnetic screen presence and empathetic leadership on set, popular broadcaster Zanele Potelwa has earned dual individual nominations for Best Female TV Personality and Best TV Presenter as host of the show.

For Clover, the brand behind Tropika, the nominations are a proud moment for a show that has continued to entertain audiences with its mix of challenges, personalities, unexpected twists and spectacular island setting.

“We’re incredibly proud to see Tropika Island Of Treasure recognised with four nominations at the National Film & TV Awards South Africa. These nominations are a wonderful acknowledgement of the hard work, creativity and passion that go into bringing the show to life, as well as Zanele’s contribution as a host. We’re excited to see the season connecting with audiences, and there is still so much more to come,” says Sveti Kovatcheva, Brand Manager: Dairy Fruit Mix at Clover.

The award nominations arrive at a pivotal moment in the broadcast schedule. With the season not even halfway through its run on SABC 1, viewers have only glimpsed the beginning of what Réunion Island has in store for the remaining contestant duos.

As alliances shift and Sunset Ceremonies become increasingly tense, fans can expect even more game-changing twists, unexpected physical challenges, and jaw-dropping moments before the R1 million grand prize winner is crowned.

Public voting for the National Film & TV Awards South Africa has officially opened at https://nationalfilmandtvawards.co.za/voting and fans are encouraged to vote until the voting period closes on 17 November 2026 at 12:00.
