My Vans: A Little Edge for a Busy Woman

I’ll be honest  when I first saw these black Vans with the silver studs, it was the studs that caught my eye. I like a shoe with a bit of personality, and these definitely have that. The classic black makes them easy to wear with almost anything, while the silver studs give them a little edge without being too much.

But for me, style is only half the story. I’m a woman in my 40s, a mother of three, and my days are rarely slow. I’m constantly driving around, moving between clients, running errands and trying to fit everything into one day. So, when it comes to shoes, I need something that looks good but can actually keep up with me.

That’s where these Vans really work for me. They’re comfortable enough for my busy days and easy to slip on when I’m rushing out the door. I don’t feel like I’m sacrificing style just because I need comfort.

What I also love is how they make me feel. At this stage of my life, I’m not interested in wearing something just because it’s trendy. I want pieces that feel like me. These shoes have a cool, slightly rebellious feel to them, and I love that. They make a simple jeans-and-T-shirt outfit feel a little more put together, without looking like I tried too hard.

And perhaps that’s what I appreciate most about them. They’re practical enough for my everyday life, but they still give me that little feeling of “I look good today.”

For a busy woman in her 40s, that combination of comfort, personality and confidence is a win for me.

My verdict: Comfortable, easy to style and just edgy enough to make me feel good when I put them on.
